Moose Hunting

Experience thrilling moose hunts with us at Wild Alberta High Country Hunts. Our expertly guided hunts cater to different seasons, ensuring you have the best chance at bagging a trophy moose.

Seasons:

– **Archery Season:** Last week of August, 7 days of hunting. Only 2 spots available. Sit over natural springs and licks in a stand.
– **Rut Hunt:** Generally best from last week of September to second week of October (6 full days). Limited to 4 people per year.
– **Post Rut Hunt:** Month of November (6 full days). Conducted out of side-by-side Polaris rangers, providing a comfortable spot-and-stalk experience.

Accommodations:

Our comfortable camp includes power and showers every day. Heated bunkhouses and mess hall ensure a cozy stay. Transportation options include driving yourself (4×4 vehicle access) or airport pick-up/drop-off from Grande Prairie.

Inclusions:

All hunts include two hunters per guide (unless otherwise arranged), food, lodging, and skinning of trophy. Exclusions: meat processing, taxidermy, alcoholic beverages, gratuity.

Costs:

– Archery Hunt: $7000.00 USD (tag and license included)
– Rut Hunt: $10,500 USD (tag and license included)
– November Post Rut Hunt: $8500.00 USD (tag and license included)

Success Rates:

– Archery Hunt: 75% success rate
– Rut Hunt: 100% success rate for the last 10 years
– November Post Rut Hunt: 80% success rate for the last 5 years

Additional Information:

Fair chase hunt with a strong emphasis on success. No major restrictions on bull size. Non-hunting guests accommodated (limited space, negotiable prices).

Location:

Both moose and bear hunts take place in WMU525, approximately 2.5 hours northwest of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Bear hunts run from May 1 to June 15, dependent on winter conditions.
